Erie S1 309 at Pullman Junction on the south side of Chicago, Illinois on April 20, 1965, photo by Chuck Zeiler. The S1 was built as Erie 309 (c/n 75119) in December 1946, and was purchsed in 1968 by Falconbridge Nickel Mines, Falconbridge, Ontario, Canada. Also seen is Alco S2 505 in EL paint, built in December 1946 (c/n 73892).

This locomotive was built in December 1946 (c/n 75119), became EL 309 (class SA-6) sometime after the October 17, 1960 merger of the Erie and DL&W, and was sold to Falconbridge Nickel Mines Falconbridge, Ontario, sometime in 1968.
