Title:
PRR 9768, EF-15A, 1965
Description:
Brickyard. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train at the Brickyard Crossing in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 18 July 1965. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #9768, #7249, and #9392. All were built by EMD. #9768 is an EF-15A built in 1951 and rated at 1,500 horsepower. #7249 is an EFS-17M built in 1959 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. #9392 is an ES-12 built in 1950 and rated at 1,200 horsepower; it is just being towed, however. They are pulling a 93-car westbound mixed-cargo freight train with caboose #477807. There are also two pushers on the end: PRR engines #8608 and #8613.

Title:
PRR, ELDO Action, #6 of 8, 1966
Description:
ELDO Action. Here is the sixth of eight original photos that I took in the Eldorado section of Altoona, Pennsylvania, in January of 1966. At the left, the crew of Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9819 awaits orders to move their mixed-cargo freight train from Altoona through Eldorado to the Wye Switches in Duncansville, and thence up the New Portage Branch line to Gallitzin and points West. #9819 is an EF-15A built by GM-EMD in May of 1951, rated at 1,500 horsepower, and retired in November of 1966. At the right, a local freight bound for Hollidaysburg bypasses the line-haul train. It's powered by PRR engine #9392, an ES-12 switcher built by GM-EMD in May of 1950 and rated at 1,200 horsepower.
