Bob Reinke	General	Regrettably, the crew on this unit not make it: the opposing train, 188 out of Atlanta ran a red and collided head-on with the train 2799 was leading (G38). The conductor, riding in the second unit (NS 3994) escaped serious injury. Unfortunately, the conductor whom was riding in the lead unit of 188 (NS 8641) was fatally injured as well. The engineer who was in the lead unit, as well the brakeman and flagman of 188 riding in the second unit of that train (NS 8621), where not seriously injured.	5/21/2011 11:35:33 PM

SD Goss	General	I remember when this all happened. I was on duty at Inman when 188 departed. I even waved to them when they entered the mainline via the "Perry Way" (no longer exists) from FT-01. Several months later, I saw engineer Fisher in the post office. He approached me and with tears in his eyes collapsed into my arms. I held him up and tried to comfort him. It is difficult to go through something like that and sometimes it is even harder to live with it afterwards. The death of AA Forrester preceded that of his brother's retirement as division chief dispatcher by only a few months. I don't believe Ollie ( "OEF" ) could stand it anymore..	9/6/2011 3:47:38 PM

Benji Holden	General	Unfortunately, my couzing, my mothers first couzin, Ricky Cowart got burned up in one of these engines, it's unsure to me which train he was own, I was around 13 when this happened, I am now 34, his mother my Aunt Grace passed away a few years ago, my late Grandfathers sister on my mothers side. Many years ago, his brother wrapped a fire truck around a tree and killed also, do not know if I ever met hime or not or when that happened, their father, passed away years before I was born, passed away with cancer, and one of their sons, Ricky or Randy's son a few years ago, died cancer as well at a young age. And Aunt Grace lost a another husband, and two brothers, one at a tender age of him being in his thrities I believe, My Aunt Grace had been through so much, and her family, she was a strong woman to go through all of this, but thank God she's in Heaven and dont haft to suffer no more, she also lost a baby sister to years before I was born, thank God when we get to the promise land their	12/31/2011 7:36:05 PM

Anna McDaniel	General	Actually there was one survivor on G38. My grandfather, John McDaniel, did manage to get out of G38 and was the only survivor. He was the helper/flagman and managed to crawl out after lying down in his unit right before the collision.	4/10/2016 7:10:24 PM
