Photo Caption: "The First of the Pennsylvania's Fleet of Mountain Type Engines, No. 4700, Undergoing Tests at the Altoona Plant." PRR engine #4700 is the original M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built in Juniata during October of 1923 and retired in July of 1950 after 27 years of faithful service. |
