| Here is the first of three photos by an unidentified photographer of a motive power display run by the Pennsylvania Railroad at its West Philadelphia Yards in March of 1924. Prominent here (L to R) are engines #3700 and #3931. Both were built in Juniata. #3700 is the HC-1S (2-8-8-0) steam locomotive built during June of 1919 and retired in August of 1929. #3931 is the FF-1 (1-C-C-1) electric engine built in April of 1917, rated at 4,000 horsepower, and retired in April of 1940. |
