Here is page 47 of a 78-page booklet published by Harry P. Albrecht entitled "Those Amazing Class 'D' Locomotives." It was issued originally in June of 1981. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #1658, a D-14 (4-4-0) "American" built in Juniata during 1893, later rebuilt as a D-14C, and retired in August of 1915 after 22 years of faithful service. Across the tracks at the far left, note the Railroader standing atop the boxcar. |
