SPM. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken in South Amboy, New Jersey, c. 1954. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5412, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in February of 1927 and retired in March of 1956 after 29 years of faithful service. In this context, it's just departed the South Amboy Station with a seven-car passenger train heading South on the New York & Long Branch line. |
