Louisville & Nashville train No. 34, the northbound PIEDMONT, was on its way out of New Orleans, running along the median of Elysian Fields Avenue at North Rampart Street. The train was powered by K-5 class Pacific 271, which had been built by Baldwin in 1923 (56131) and was retired on 31 March 1953. |
