Oil Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken near East St. Louis, Illinois, in November of 1965. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5848 and two more "EP" Class units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD. #5848 is an EP-20 constructed in August of 1947 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. Note that St. Louis's mammoth "Gateway Arch To The West" is still under construction. |
