Sitting at the St Louis Amtrak Station, four head-ends poke out from beneath the overhead walkway. UP 8222 sits with a very late Texas Eagle #22, which it rescued after locomotive troubles hit AMTK 201 in east Texas. On the middle two tracks are Amtrak trains #314 & #304, the inbound Missouri River Runner and outbound Lincoln Service. And on the track closest to the camera is AMTK 54, which will replace UP 8222 on the Texas Eagle. |
