| 7th Street. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, during August of 1965. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engile #7140 and two other units whose numbers are not recorded. All were built by EMD. #7140 is an EFS-17M built in 1957 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. They have pulled'a mixed-cargo freight train to a point midway between the 7th Street Bridge (not shown) and the 4th Street Bridge (visible in the distance). They have stopped, and await orders to proceed up#the Allegheny Mountains via the Horseshoe Curve to Gallitzin and points West. |
