Rainy. Here is an original photo that I took at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 12 October 1965. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #2291, #2323, #2265, and #2519. #2291, #2323, and #2265 are EF-25's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,500 horsepower each. #2291 was built in June of 1964, #2323 was built in January of 1965, and #2265 was built in May of 1964. #2519 is a GF-25 built by General Electric in October of 1962 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They're rounding the Curve with a 55-car TrucTrain on its way down the Allegheny Mountains to Altoona and points East. (#7 of 21) |
