| N&W RS-11 was the last unit of several on a westbound N&W freight in Ironton, OH. I was on the south side of the tracks, looking north, as this train went by. There were at least 2-3 other EMD units ahead of this Alco. I used a 110-series camera (remember those?) for this photo--didn't have a SLR camera in those days--hence. some of the graininess. At least we have the photo. Date is uncertain. BTW, I used a new Epson scanner with an automatic "color correction" feature, as the original print had faded badly over the years. Notice the extended window on the cab. |
