GMTX 2102, engineer's side view  Contributor's Pick!       
GMTX 2102 is coupled back-to-back with UP 549 at the Union Pacific's yards in Jefferson City, MO on 5-17-2014. This unit clearly has a Union Pacific heritage! I don't, however, know how this engine was equipped with vertical headlights, much like those on a GP7 or 9. This unit also has the old-style Blomberg trucks with leaf springs.

Michael Eby General The vertical headlights are because, prior to service on the UP, this was originally a CN GP40, built by GMD. It was rebuilt as a GP38-2. 12/28/2018 9:36:24 PM
