Not a great photograph but one very evocative of a passing era. Every year for decades the Army-Navy Game was played on neutral turf in Philadelphia and almost everyone (including the teams and the students) took special trains directly to the stadium. On a cold November night in 1975 we see two PC silverliner trains (serving the Philadelphia suburbs) waiting for the game to end. Platform D held the Paoli local. |
