| This is an example of one of the IC Paducah Shops rebuilds from older IC 2-10-2 locos done between 1937-43. This 2500 class was based on the original Alco "Mountain" type locos built in 1923. They had 70" drivers and developed an impressive 240 psi boiler pressure. C. W. Burns captured this brute under the coaling tower at Markham, IL - reprint is from May, 1970. |
