| KANSAS CITY KS Sept 29 1979 -- Rock Island GP38-2 4330 (named for the Little Giant from Little Dixie Carl B. Albert, D-OK) is shown at Armourdale Yard only months before total shutdown of the Rock. Information from www.thedieselshoop.us indicates that in 1980 the unit became Missouri Pacific 2268. In 1987 it became Union Pacific 2268 and on April 6 2001 it became UP 768. It was retired by UP in June 2008 and became GMTX 2139. |
