A view of the small, stub-end yard at Columbia MO in 1967. GP7 2446 sits next to the passenger station prior to running the two-per-day (at that time) train to the main at Centralia. This shot was taken about three years after the N&W took over the Wabash. This tracks were pulled up here in November 1978 and the station was subsequently developed into a transit center. This operation was featured in Kalmbach's "Classic Railroads You Can Model" series. |
