| The night of 12/23/09 Amtrak 11 (southbound) hit a tree at Delta, about 30 miles north of Redding. It damaged the lead units airtanks, so a UP unit was cut off from a freight and put on the point. The result was a 9 hour late Amtrak which normally comes through this part of California in the middle of the night, so I was not going to miss the opportunity to photograph in the daylight. |
