An SP westbound pulls the nearly 1% grade to Grass Lake at Penoyar. This siding was named for W. C. Penoyar who held title to several large timber tracts in the area, and who deeded the right-of-way to the California Northeastern Railroad, an SP subsidiary which actually built the section from Grass Lake to Klamath Falls in 1906-1909. SP 9358 was sold for scrap to Larry's Truck Electric, 7/03. Date of photo approximate. |
