Southern Pacific home-made dome-lounge car 3604 was on the westbound SUNSET LIMITED leaving New Orleans. The car had been built by the SP in 1955 using parlor car 3000 (PS 1937) and a dome from the Budd Company. It later became Amtrak 9373 and was retired in 1981. The car then passed through several owners and was last reported on the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad at Alamosa, Colorado. (approximate date of photo) |
