Well, momentarily at least. They used interchangeable magnetic plates to make the front of 515 read "Illinois Central" where it read "Iowa Pacific" on Friday (and where the 518 still does). The entirety of the IC branch up from Freeport is gone, but this train wears an IC passenger scheme-inspired paint job much like that of the Wisconsin and Calumet F-units that used to ply these rails. |

For the first two weekends in October, Iowa Pacific/Pullman Rail Journeys re-created the "Varsity" service between Chicago and Madison. Somewhat ironically they re-created a Milwaukee Road passenger train using ex-C&NW E8s wearing an IC passenger scheme. Something from all three railroads that served Madison at one time. |
